How to Request PTR/rDNS for SMTP VPS
Quick Summary
PTR, also known as rDNS or reverse DNS, maps an IP address to a hostname.
For mail servers, PTR/rDNS is important because receiving mail servers often check whether the sending IP has a valid reverse DNS record.
Example
IP address:
192.0.2.10
PTR/rDNS hostname:
mail.yourdomain.com
Before Requesting PTR/rDNS
You must create an A record first.
